Terms of Service

Last updated: May 29, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using Preflight ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, don't use the Service. Pretty simple.

2. What Preflight Does

Preflight is a CLI tool that scans your codebase for common issues before deployment. It checks for things like missing environment variables, security headers, SSL certificates, and service configurations. It runs locally on your machine or in your CI pipeline.

3. Your Responsibilities

You're responsible for:

  • Using Preflight in accordance with applicable laws
  • The code and projects you scan with Preflight
  • Any actions you take based on Preflight's recommendations

4. Accounts

The CLI works without an account. The optional dashboard at app.preflight.sh requires one. You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity that happens under your account. You must provide accurate information and be old enough to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction.

5. Subscriptions & Payments

The CLI is free and open source. The dashboard offers a free tier and a paid plan. Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring basis (for example, monthly) through our payment processor, Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method for the then-current fee until you cancel.

You can cancel anytime from the Billing page; cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period and you keep access until then. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law. We may change pricing with reasonable notice; changes apply to the next billing period.

6. AI Fix Suggestions

The dashboard can generate AI-powered fix suggestions using third-party models (OpenAI or Anthropic). These suggestions are generated automatically and may be incomplete or incorrect. Review them and test changes before applying anything to your code. You're responsible for any actions you take based on a suggestion. You may use our included AI capacity (subject to plan limits) or supply your own provider API key.

7. No Warranty

Preflight is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We don't guarantee it will catch every issue, and we're not liable if something slips through. It's a helpful tool, not a replacement for proper testing and code review.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Preflight and its creators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of the Service.

9. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll update this page. Continued use of Preflight after changes means you accept the new terms.
